Comentarios : DESCRIPTION Model : SWAN 391 Year : 1983 LOA : 12.2 m LWL : 10.1 m Beam : 3 ;87 m Draft : 1 ;86 m Gross Tonnage : 13.98 tonnes Ballast : 3.09 tonnes HULL Scantlings, materials and workmanship throughout are consistent with the construction of a light hull, without any sacrifice of strength or stiffness. Construction – The hull is built of reinforced glass fibre polyester by the hand laying-up method. Structural bulkheads are of marine grade water-proof plywood, laminated to hull and deck. Stiffeners are GRP lay-ups over foam cores. Engine bed is of GRP with steel inserts. Finish – Hull colour, white. Cove stripe, blue. Below waterline, blue. Keel – Ballast keel is of lead casting with antimony. Cast- in keel bolts are of stainless steel. Rig anchorage – The mast is stepped through the deck onto a metal mast step with movable shoe for mast rake adjustment. Tie rod aft of mast. Stainless steel chain plates are connected with tie rods to longitudinal girders running between main bulkheads. Rudder – Made of foam filled GRP with stainless tubular stock, supported by two roller bearings. Steering Gear – Cable steering gear, sheaves provided with guards to prevent jamming. Aluminium quadrant bolted to rudder stock. 42” destroyer type stainless wheel with leather cover. Pedestal with roller bearings and friction brake. Emergency tiller. DECK Construction & Finish – Deck is made in GRP sandwich construction. Single laminate with aluminium backup plates under deck/fittings. Smooth surface white coaming; stripe, blue. Woodwork on deck – Teak hatches, sheet cleats and lips each side of sheet tracks. Laid teak battens in cockpit and on bridge deck. Wooden cockpit table. GRP Mouldings on deck – Hood for companionway, Dorade boxes, helmsman’s seat and front coaming stowage lockers, seat stowage lids. Deck fittings for running rigging – On cockpit coaming: Two genoa 3-speed sheet winches- Lewmar 55AP. Two spinnaker sheet winches- Lewmar 48AP. Four spinnaker/genoa/main halyard/pole lift/foreguy winches- two Lewmar 44AST, and two Lewmar 42A. Four halyard jammers each side. On bridge deck: Main sheet winch- Lewmar 42AST. Main sheet track with slider and tag lines. On deck: One pair of double genoa foot blocks, aluminium genoa sheet track, lugs for spinnaker sheet blocks at each quarter. One eye for spinnaker foreguy block near stemhead. Eyes for aft guy blocks amidships. Eyes for running backstays on foot blocks and stowage position near main shrouds. Four fixed lead blocks each side of mast. Eyes for reefing lines aft of mast. Other deck fittings – Anodised aluminium toe rail with drain holes where required. 10” aluminium mooring cleats, two on foredeck, two aft. Pulpit, pushpit and lifeline stanchions of stainless steel with bases bolted through deck, insulated and plastic covered lifelines with leather stanchion coverings. Socket for flagpole on pushpit and ensign pole. Aluminium mast collar. Stemhead fitting of stainless steel with chain roller. Double headsail tack attachment near stemhead. Spinnaker pole fastenings on deck. Stowage with GRP front and two gas bottles below helmsman’s seat. Stowage in cockpit coamings and under seat lids. Four winch handle holders in cockpit. Hatches and windows – Hinged hatch to forepeak stowage. Hinged hatch to fo’c’sle. Opening deck hatch in heads. Hinged hatch to main cabin. Hatch from aft cabin to cockpit. In cabin trunk sides, fixed windows forward. One pair opening hatches each side of aft cabin. Main companionway, lockable sliding hatch of tinted acrylic. INTERIOR Teak with hand rubbed satin finish is used for all visible woodwork. Floorboards with laid teak and holly veneer, provide access to the bilges. Teak grating in heads. Topsides, where visible, lined with teak battens. Overhead lined with removable panelling. Tables, bureaus, seats, dressers etc have rounded corners. Door sills have stainless steel chafing pieces. Hooks installed to hold doors in open position. Hanging lockers are equipped with rods and hooks and the doors are provided with louvers. Upholstery – Burgundy. Forepeak – Drained stowage accessible from deck. Fo’c’sle – Sail bins and access to bow thruster. Steps below hatch. Passage – Forward locker opposite heads, with shelves. Aft locker arranged as hanging locker. Main cabin – Removable drop leaf table with fiddles and condiment rack. Lockers behind settee backrests each side. Stowage for bottles and glasses at port forward end. Two pilot berths and two settee berths. Aft cabin – Double and single berths. Shelves over and stowage under berths. Mirror on front bulkhead with dresser below. Access to steering gear and batteries between berths. Navigation area - Chart stowage under table top, chest of drawers in base. Dished navigator’s seat. Heads – Single heads, starboard side, forward. Jabsco, new 2002. GRP wash basin and dresser. Equipped with telephone type shower, mirror, towel rail, paper holder and waste container. Lockers with shelves, outboard. Galley – Insulated and sheathed space fitted with two burner and oven gas stove, protected by stainless steel guard. Stainless steel double sink port side with waste container below. Ice box, 145 litres, insulated with 100mm thick foam, new 2004 Med spec refrigerator. Racks for plates in locker on aft bulkhead. Chest of drawers for utensils. Counter top in Formica. PROPULSION MACHINERY Engine; Perkins four cylinder four stroke marine diesel. Type NM4.108 rated 40 SHP (36kW) at 3000rpm. On flexible mountings with Hurth mechanic reverse gear, reduction 2.6:1. Air intake silencer. Drip tray integral with engine bed. Removable engine box internally sound insulated. Starting system – The engine has its own starting batteries, 93Ah 12v, new 2004, located with the service batteries. Engine controls – In cockpit; engine controls On/Off, Start and Stop buttons, cold start button, recessed single lever control of throttle and gear shift, tachometer with engine hour meter, coolant temperature and oil pressure gauges, battery charge warning light, audible alarm for low oil pressure, high engine or exhaust temperature. Propeller shaft – Made of corrosion resistant steel with rigid shaft coupling, outboard end supported by strut with inner bearing. Right hand, two bladed folding propeller-21” dia. Engine cooling system – Thermostat controlled fresh water cooling with heat exchanger. Strainer in seawater intake, discharge through exhaust system. Fuel system – Fuel capacity 180 litres in one tank with shut-off cock. Filler on deck. Water separator on fuel feed line, return line provided. Tank vented to coaming. Exhaust system – Wet system exhaust with silencer and cooling water bypass discharging at transom. Silencer provided with drain tap and temperature alarm. PLUMBING AND VENTILATION General – Seacocks of bronze for all through hull fittings below the waterline. Located in accessible positions. Inboard side of seacocks fitted with nipple long enough to take two hose clamps. Fuel and water tanks of welded stainless steel and provided with baffles, inspection covers, sounding rods and vent pipes. All interior pipework and galley tap replaced in 2001. Heads tap replaced 2004. Pressure pump for water system replaced 2007. Fresh water system – Water capacity: 350 litres in two tanks. One filler line from deck. Tank vent pipes drain into heads wash basin. Foot pumps for galley sink and heads wash basin. Pressurised hot and cold water system to galley and heads. Sea Water System – Intake seacocks for marine cooling system, galley and heads flushing. Galley spout with foot pump. Drainage System – Galley sinks and heads wash basin drain through seacocks. Shower tray is emptied by electric pump to outlet above water line. Heads pump out to holding tank with deck access for flushing or direct pump out to sea below water line. Two manual bilge pumps, one below in salon and one in cockpit, both discharging through outlets above the waterline. One electric bilge pump discharging above the waterline. Two 2 inch drains in cockpit discharging above the waterline. Icebox/refrigerator drained to bilge. Heads – Jabsco oval pan W/C discharging through seacock or holding tank. Option controlled by twin direction valve in storage unit below hand basin. Macerating pump, new, not fitted but with spares on board. Stove – Two burner gas stove with grill and oven, gimballed and provided with fiddles. Flame failure devises on burners. Gas shut-off cock adjacent to stove. Solenoid safety shut-off new in 2003. Main shut off on gas bottle. Ventilation – Dorade ventilators on fore deck and abreast main companionway. Exhaust ventilator in galley and heads. Engine space air inlet in lazarette, outlet to cockpit and coaming with blower. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION General – 12V DC two-wire system for lighting, instruments and battery charging. Care has been taken to install heavy wiring to prevent excessive voltage loss. For lightning protection; headstay, backstay, mast step and main chain plates are grounded to ballast keel bolts with heavy cable. Pioneer DEH 760 CO radio/CD player. Service Power – Service battery capacity 374Ah, set in fibreglass box beneath sea berth in aft cabin. Main switch under navigator’s seat. Outlets – 12V outlets at main switchboard, in heads and in cockpit. Lighting Arrangements – Interior: One dome light over each berth, flexible chart table light in navigation area, red night lights at floor level, reading lights above each berth. Exterior: Deck flood light on mast, masthead tricolour and steaming light. Compass light with rheostat. Bow and stern navigation lights. Main switchboard - 12V DC. Protected by a Perspex door and provided with breakers of tri free circuit type. Main switch and fuses in a separate locker. One voltmeter and one ammeter with two way switching for checking service and starting batteries. Switches for outside and navigation lights. Switch for cutting alternator field current to non-charging level, 12V outlet socket. Charging System – On the engine there is a 55 amp 12V alternator for charging the service and starting batteries through isolation diodes. 240V AC electrical system for shore power and battery charging. 4 Wind power charging system, vane mounted above pushpit. INSTRUMENTATION One Suunto 6” steering compass mounted on binnacle on steering pedestal. Hercules System 190 (Pack 2), including; computer, two MFD’s, master keyboard, 3600 analogue meter, underwater unit and masthead unit.
